How late can I book a hotel for spring break in Cancun?

I know everyone says to book early, and we where going to do it this week but one of my friend's parents say he cant go until he gets his grades up. They said that we could wait until December to book places and still get a good hotel on the beach. Is there going to be good selections left by then you think?

Waiting until the last minute can backfire on you as you may have to wait a few extra days. If you have a scheduled vacation(from work) then certainly book in advance especially during spring break.

The booking trend for Spring Break starts to pick-up around the end of January...first part of February. Since Spring Break varies from school to school around the country, I wouldn't wait past then to make your reservation. There are Web sites that tell you when universities schedule their Spring Breaks, so just Google to see if the time your going is a popular time.





It is true that you can save some money by booking your flight and hotel at the same time as a package, but hotels are still cutting their rates, so you could still find a good hotel price after you book your flight.

I know they get packed for spring break but there's a crap load of resorts out there. If you have one resort in mind, then yes time would make a difference. The earlier the better.





Also, i see several comments about doing your airfare first. You usually get a better deal booking them together.





Just book it and get your friend a tutor so his grades will come up.
I would book my airfare first! Airfares are going crazy right now and they will probably only go up especially for the time frame you are talking about. After you look at the airfare you will get a better idea of what you can afford for hotel, and then you can book it.

I will also recomend you to book your airline tickets as soon as posible!!, and as long as you book your vacations before the end of the year you will be able to find good deals, however the sooner the better!!!
