I'm planning on taking a vacation, within driving distance, so transportation isn't a big thing, just where to stay. Are there websites for hotels that offer discounts for firefighters too? I used it to book tickets for an ex-boss when he went on business trips, He was cheap so I take it the prices are good!

I bet you'd have a hard time finding sites that have firefighting discounts. Maybe you contact the hotel directly for that? This site is the best otherwise:

During my last trip I came across a website called http://www.cheaphotel-s.com . It has quite a large variety of hotels. You might wanna give it a try.
On this site you can view hotels by city and state and see the price range and rating for the hotels. Good luck!
