What is a cheap but safe hotel to stay by all the night clubs in Vancouver, BC?

Me and my friends are planning a trip to Vancouver BC to go clubbing and barhopping, and are looking to hopefully stay in a cheap, but safe and legit hotel that is walking distance to the night clubs and bars that are on Granville st. Check out the YWCA hotel. You can often get a room there for less than 40$ a night. Its located a couple blocks West of BC place stadium and only a few blocks from Granville Street and Robson Street shopping. Some rooms don't have private bathrooms, but you really can't beat the price.
