How is a hotel suite different from a regular hotel room?

Does it just have a second room for sleeping? We have a 3 year old that will be sleeping before we are ready. Is a ';suite'; the option we are looking for?How is a hotel suite different from a regular hotel room?
it's bigger, it may have more rooms, a wet bar, a hot tub, and more services available, usually well worth the upgrade. How is a hotel suite different from a regular hotel room?
Well, a ';suite'; is supposed to mean more than one room but be careful and ask questions.

A lot of hotel companies have taken liberties with the term. I've been in rooms where the ';suite'; was just a little cubby area outside the bathroom and closet with a chair in it.

You need to clarify that you have a separate sleeping room with a door and a couch, TV, etc in the outer area.
when you enter a suite, there's the receiving area first then another door for the actual bedroom.

while when you enter a standard room, you're already in the actual bedroom.
a hotel suite comes with a living room; then the bedroom itself.
