Why do hotel beds have the sheets tucked under the matress?

I can't understand why housekeeping does this, they shove the sheets under the matress making it impossible to pull!!


Anyone know the answer?Why do hotel beds have the sheets tucked under the matress?
The reason for that is because that is the proper way to do a bed. If the sheets were hanging out on the side, you would wonder why don't they tuck them in, it looks so sloppy.

I was in the military and in basic training they teach you how to make a bed with hospital corners and everything tucked in tight and your TI better be able to bounce a quarter on it or it's not done correctly!
