Is the hotel Contessa a good place to stay in san antonio on the river walk?

I am planning to visit in march and would like to stay at a nice hotel on the riverwalk.Is the hotel Contessa a good place to stay in san antonio on the river walk?
I have walked past it and even dined within awhile back. It is quite beautiful. It's right on the river near Market Street. I have played tourist in my city, but quite honestly, if I am going to spend that kind of money to stay at a hotel, I go out of town. So, since you are visiting...have a blast. It has wonderful reviews.





Look at the Hotel Valencia as well. It is beautiful. One of my college students works there and tells me he has many return clients.





***New news: I went to Mexican Manhattan yesterday, a really nice outdoor patio restaurant upstairs across from the Holiday Inn. So after that adventure, we checked out the Drury Inn across the street. Very very nice old bank and now a luxury hotel, but short on a few amenities, like room service. But the view from the pool/spa on the 22nd floor is fantastic. Then, we went across the way to the Hotel Contessa. I love the spanish flair and it has all the amenities!! And, yes, it is on the river. It's down the corner from the Majestic and several nice night clubs. It's also near the Hotel Gunther. Another very nice place.Is the hotel Contessa a good place to stay in san antonio on the river walk?
I've heard that it is pretty nice. The only drawback that it has going against it is that it isn't on the main part of the River Walk where everything is. If you want a nice hotel in the heart of the Riverwalk, stay at Omni La Mansion Del Rio or the Watermark.
