What is the best hotel close to the Dallas Zoo?

We are planning to visit the Dallas Zoo, and we have a 4 year old. I am looking for a clean, safe hotel close to the zoo. Any ideas?What is the best hotel close to the Dallas Zoo?
There is nothing close to the Dallas Zoo that I would recommend. That is a terrible neighborhood. A little further north, and you are in downtown, and there are tons of hotels off of 75. Are you from the Dallas area? Not sure if you have looked into it or not, but the Ft Worth Zoo is way better!What is the best hotel close to the Dallas Zoo?
i would recommend the West End Hotel Downtown Dallas - only about 2.5 miles from the Zoo and in a great area of downtown. another option would be La Quinta Inn Dallas Uptown - a little further - more like 6 miles - but also reasonably priced and in a good location. and for a great deal check out http://www.travelcusehotels.com. the site is an aggregator which means it searches other sites and presents you with the best deals available. good luck and hope this helps!
The Dallas Zoo is right off of the Light Rail line and there are several hotels that are very nice off the rail line as well. You also get the benefit of riding the train with your kid - they seem to love that for some reason. Day passes are $3 and you don't have to pay for parking.





For Example - at the Galatyn park stop, there is the Renaissance Richardson - excellent hotel.





There is a nice hotel at mockingbird as well (I only know the red line - sorry).





Train runs through downtown so you have all the fancy onces there - the W, the Adolphus (very pricey though).
